For months and months we, S&Believers, have been listening to rumors that Vanessa Marcil would leave. First it was October '96. Then it was the end/beginning of the year. Then February. Then sometime this summer. Now she's extended her contract! One HUGE problem: Maurice Benard, our Sonny, decided to leave in July. Then it was August. Then mid-September. Below is the latest news:
Maurice Benard is DEFINATELY leaving GH. His last day of taping is August 28. HOWEVER, they can very easily write him back onto the show for a few visits or to return permanantly if his film plans don't work out, so mid-September is NOT the last time we will be seeing Sonny Corinthos. Maurice Benard said in an interview that he wouldn't be leaving to presue other things if there wasn't a way to go back to GH.
The below is the old scoop that was the reason for this page. Still, remember to WRITE TO GH to say that you miss/will miss Sonny and to please make it so that he can return!
" Vanessa has definitely signed for only 6 months . TPTB are trying to get Maurice to stay until January. He will be taping scenes early and seen until October at least. They want to put together a S&B wedding.....then they could leave together in January (actually they would tape until December-- up until right before Tyler and Vanessa's wedding) If this happens, Sonny won't be faking his death as previously planned."

Step 3: In these e-mails and snail mails, tell how much you love to watch Maurice play Sonny. How you'd love it if you could have just a few more months of S&B's reunion. How much you would LOVE a marriage, a "Happily ever after" meets the soap world type situations. Tell them how much you are enjoying the reunion and how much you love S&B.
If you are wondering about the validity of the scoop, I'd like to say that this person has been very accurate in the past so there is no reason whatsoever to doubt this scoop as of yet. Even if half of it is true, it's still GOOD NEWS for ALL Sonny, Maurice and Sonny and Brenda fans.
